Dianne – After the Storm
magnificent releasE
I was ecstatic when I heard Dianne van Giersbergen dropped her debut solo release, aptly titled “After The Storm”.

Her vocals mesmerised me since I first heard her sing with Xandria, particularly on the iconic “Nightfall”.

How do you top a song like that? Unbelievably, she did just that with her debut single under her name, “After The Storm”.

This symphonic metal track is simply masterful. Her awe-inspiring, operatic soprano vocals soar to new heights, showcasing her immense vocal talent. To accompany the lush melodies, the drums provide a perfect balance of power and finesse. The result? An impressive introduction from such an incredible singer!

This incredible debut will undoubtedly be followed by a full album—though it will still be a while, as we discovered in our interview with Dianne. Nevertheless, it will undoubtedly be worth the wait!

Don’t miss out on this magnificent release—it truly is remarkable!

OUTSTANDING

“After the Storm” is Dianne van Giersbergen’s (ex-Xandria) long-awaited first solo single. Produced and co-written by Joost van den Broek (Powerwolf, Epica, Ayreon), featuring Isaac Delahaye (Epica) on guitar, Johan van Stratum (Blind Guardian, Stream of Passion) on bass guitar, Koen Herfst ( Van den Berg, Armin van Buuren) on drums and released under her own name “DIANNE”.  It’s symphonic metal, it’s power metal and it’s topped with Dianne’s characteristic, dramatic operatic voice.

“After the Storm” is a song about standing up for yourself and abandoning your position as a pawn in someone else’s war. The lyrics are autobiographic and discuss her emotional rollercoaster of anger, betrayal, and deep regret but also the foresight of a new dawn and the goal to emerge stronger. A heartfelt story, captured in a cinematic video (by Blackbriar) that will accompany the single’s release.

Listeners of the symphonic metal genre who enjoyed Dianne’s voice in Xandria, but also fans from Nightwish, Epica, Powerwolf and similar bands, will definitely be thrilled to hear DIANNE’s music.

“After the Storm” will be released on February 14th 2023, Valentine's Day. A date was deliberately chosen to highlight that she has come full circle with the last single she released with Xandria in 2017: "Queen of Hearts Reborn".

"After the Storm" ist Dianne van Giersbergens (ex-Xandria) lang erwartete erste Solo-Single.

"After the Storm" wird am 14.
