On September 2nd my oldest brother Shayne died. He was 48 years old. He always likened himself to John Bender, Judd Nelson’s character in the John Hughes classic “The Breakfast Club” and him and one of his friends used to call each other Judd and Molly (Ringwald).
I felt it appropriate to release this cover of “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” that I originally recorded for an ad for Dickens Pub in Calgary in it’s full version and remastered.
Unfortunately my brother didn’t have life insurance and my family is in need of some financial assistance so all proceeds from this single will go to recover those costs and 30% will go to local Niagara Region drug addiction support groups. Something Shayne was in support of due to losing so many friends to addiction throughout the years..
