The beats and melodies are crafted in a perfectly blended way that is so spot-on to match the vocals and style. It is a great EP. I could listen to this over and over. It hooks you in so well. You have some slower beats and others that can rate your heart at 120 beats per minute.
The Number H has genuinely put a lot of thought and effort into making this extra special, which has been surpassed.
An EP that is honestly beyond expectations.

The Conditioning is The Number H's second EP for the dark electronic band.
The Conditioning explores feelings of loss, frustration and regret. The first song of the album, "Nothing", opens with a thunderstorm and hits hard with the feelings of frustration: "Nothing will come of Nothing", referencing inaction begetting no progress and thus no change in condition.
After frustration, we move to "Grief", depicting the feeling through the imagery of the words cherry-picked from Constance's monologue in Shakespeare's King John and the atmosphere created by the layered soundscapes throughout the track. Confusion of self and purpose is explored in "Tell Me", referencing King Lear's "who is it that can tell me who I am", an echoing question of existential confusion to which there isn't an answer.
The EP concludes with "Undone", referencing "what's done, cannot be undone", wherein the burden of regret should be dispelled and focus shifted to that which can be impacted. It reminds me and the listener here at the end of the EP not to dwell on regret and to give yourself the space for growth and forward motion.
The Conditioning stays true to the first EP in that it uses a mixture of found and original spoken phrases, harvested sounds, layered dark electronic beats, and soundscapes. The found phrases originate exclusively from Shakespeare's plays – with their timeless and flawless description of raw emotions'
The harvested sounds are all encountered and recorded in day-to-day life – the sound of running footsteps, a passing train, a thunderstorm, a leaky faucet – manipulated and creatively incorporated into beats and soundscapes to enhance the feeling of the tracks.

The Conditioning erforscht Gefühle von Verlust, Frustration und Bedauern. Der erste Song des Albums, "Nothing", beginnt mit einem Gewitter und trifft hart mit den Gefühlen der Frustration: "Nothing will come of Nothing", der sich auf Untätigkeit bezieht, die keinen Fortschritt und damit keine Änderung des Zustands hervorruft.
Nach Frustration gehen wir zu "Grief" über und zeigen das Gefühl durch die Bilder der Wörter, die aus Konstanzs Monolog in Shakespeares King John ausgewählt wurden, und die Atmosphäre, die durch die vielschichtigen Klanglandschaften im gesamten Track erzeugt wird. Verwirrung über Selbst und Zweck wird in "Tell Me" untersucht und bezieht sich auf König Lears "wer ist es, der mir sagen kann, wer ich bin", eine widerhallende Frage der existenziellen Verwirrung, auf die es keine Antwort gibt.
Das EP schließt mit "Undone" und verweist auf "was getan ist, kann nicht rückgängig gemacht werden", wobei die Last des Bedauerns abgezogen und der Fokus auf das verlagert werden sollte, was betroffen sein kann. Es erinnert mich und den Zuhörer hier am Ende der EP daran, nicht auf Bedauern einzugehen und sich den Raum für Wachstum und Vorwärtsbewegung zu geben.
The Conditioning bleibt der ersten EP treu, da sie eine Mischung aus gefundenen und original gesprochenen Phrasen, geernteten Sounds, geschichteten dunklen elektronischen Beats und Klanglandschaften verwendet. Die gefundenen Sätze stammen ausschließlich aus Shakespeares Stücken - mit ihrer zeitlosen und makellosen Beschreibung roher Emotionen".
Die geernteten Klänge werden alle im täglichen Leben angetroffen und aufgenommen - das Geräusch von Laufschritten, ein vorbeifahrender Zug, ein Gewitter, ein undichter Wasserhahn - manipuliert und kreativ in Beats und Klanglandschaften integriert, um das Gefühl der Gleise zu verbessern.
