 SEA OF SIN is a German New Wave Pop Band that was originally founded in the 1990s and reached considerable success in the international Synthpop scene through their debut album “Watch Out!” and the “Illuminate EP” that had been produced by Heiko Maile, member of German Synthpop pioneers CAMOUFLAGE. 

After a long break SEA OF SIN caused a stir in 2018 with their long-awaited comeback album “FUTURE PULSE” with various top 10 placements in the ‘Deutsche Alternative Charts’ (DAC). While this comeback album mostly consisted of re‐edits of older songs, SEA OF SIN 2019 started with completely new songs and a fantastic compilation of their best remixes in 2018 / 2019. And the wait was worth it. 

The first album with new Songs after the break called “UNBROKEN” has been released in April 2019 and showed the two founding members Frank Zwicker (vocals & words) and Klaus Schill (synths, guitars & production) musically more mature than ever. The songs on “UNBROKEN” had all the classic SEA OF SIN ingredients: high‐quality Synth-driven Indie Pop music with a penchant for melancholy and strong, catchy melodies that get stuck in the head and heart. Stylistically the spectrum ranges from mid‐tempo numbers with influences from classic 90s electropop to energetic songs that contain elements from Indie bands such as New Order or The Editors. The distinctive and unmistakable voice of Frank and the sophisticated production handwriting of Klaus always ensure the special SEA OF SIN touch. 

In week 18 in 2019 “UNBROKEN” entered the ‘Deutsche Alternative Charts (DAC) album top 10 as the highest new entry at number 3 and was able to stay there for a total of eight weeks ‐ as highest position the album could even climb up to number 2, ahead of internationally successful acts such as Chemical Brothers, Iggy Pop or Schiller. 

On November 29th 2019, SEA OF SIN released “THE REMIXES”, an ingenious compilation of their best remixes from 2018/2019 with a total of 15 tracks and peppered with the fabulous work of internationally successful remixers such as Mesh (UK), Blume (ITA) and The New Division (US) amongst others. “THE REMIXES” also included a completely new song, the previously unreleased “Only the Memory Remains” 

The year 2020 in a nutshell: all plans to focus on playing live this year had been crushed by the worldwide pandemic. But Frank and Klaus did not lose their spirit in music, but released more Music than ever before. The Singles “Unspoken Words”, “Floating Away”, “Turn Back Time” and “Immaculate” were all released accompanied by great Remixes of artists such as Mesh (UK), Nite (US), Man Without Country (UK), Covered in Snow (SWE) and many more. 

All these great collaborations of 2020 have been released as Remix-Compilation “THE REMIXES II” on March 19th 2021. which climbed on No.1 of ‘Deutsche Alternative Charts’ (DAC) – a great success and well deserved reward for all the efforts of 2020. Big shoutout to all remixers & artists involved! 

But the band’s highlight in 2021 surely has been the opportunity to produce a Remix for iconic British artist ANNE CLARK for her Song “SOMETIMES” which as been featured on her album “SYNAESTHESIA – CLASSICS REWORKED” - alongside with Remixes by great artists and producers such as Solomun, Blank & Jones and Marc Romboy.

Nach einer langen Pause sorgte SEA OF SIN 2018 mit ihrem lang erwarteten Comeback-Album "FUTURE PULSE" mit verschiedenen Top-10-Platzierungen in den "Deutschen Alternative Charts" (DAC) für Aufsehen. Während dieses Comeback-Album hauptsächlich aus Re-Edits älterer Songs bestand, begann SEA OF SIN 2019 2018 / 2019 mit völlig neuen Songs und einer fantastischen Zusammenstellung ihrer besten Remixe. Und das Warten hat sich gelohnt.

Das erste Album mit neuen Songs nach der Pause namens "UNBROKEN" wurde im April 2019 veröffentlicht und zeigte den beiden Gründungsmitgliedern Frank Zwicker (Gesang & Worte) und Klaus Schill (Synths, Gitarren & Produktion) musikalisch reifer als je zuvor. Die Songs auf "UNBROKEN" hatten alle klassischen SEA OF SIN-Zutaten: hochwertige Synth-getriebene Indie-Pop-Musik mit einer Vorliebe für Melancholie und starke, eingängige Melodien, die im Kopf und im Herzen stecken bleiben. Stilistisch reicht das Spektrum von Mid-Tempo-Zahlen mit Einflüssen aus dem klassischen Elektropop der 90er Jahre bis hin zu energetischen Songs, die Elemente von Indie-Bands wie New Order oder The Editors enthalten. Die unverwechselbare und unverwechselbare Stimme von Frank und die anspruchsvolle Produktionshandschrift von Klaus sorgen immer für den besonderen SEA OF SIN-Touch.

In Woche 18 im Jahr 2019 stieg "UNBROKEN" als höchster Neuzugang auf Platz 3 in die "Deutsche Alternative Charts (DAC) Album Top 10 ein und konnte dort insgesamt acht Wochen bleiben - als höchste Position konnte das Album sogar auf Platz 2 steigen, vor international erfolgreichen Acts wie Chemical Brothers, Iggy Pop oder Schiller.

Am 29. November 2019 veröffentlichte SEA OF SIN "THE REMIXES", eine geniale Zusammenstellung ihrer besten Remixe aus dem Jahr 2018/2019 mit insgesamt 15 Tracks und gespickt mit der fabelhaften Arbeit international erfolgreicher Remixer wie Mesh (UK), Blume (ITA) und The New Division (US). "THE REMIXES" enthielt auch einen völlig neuen Song, den bisher unveröffentlichten "Only the Memory Remains".

Das Jahr 2020 auf den Punkt gebracht: Alle Pläne, sich in diesem Jahr auf das Live-Spiel zu konzentrieren, waren von der weltweiten Pandemie erdrückt worden. Aber Frank und Klaus verloren nicht ihren Geist in der Musik, sondern veröffentlichten mehr Musik als je zuvor. Die Singles "Unspoken Words", "Floating Away", "Turn Back Time" und "Immaculate" wurden alle veröffentlicht, begleitet von großartigen Remixen von Künstlern wie Mesh (UK), Nite (US), Man Without Country (UK), Covered in Snow (SWE) und vielen mehr.

All diese großartigen Kollaborationen von 2020 wurden am 19. März 2021 als Remix-Compilation "THE REMIXES II" veröffentlicht, die auf Platz 1 der "Deutsche Alternative Charts" (DAC) kletterte - ein großer Erfolg und eine wohlverdiente Belohnung für alle Bemühungen des Jahres 2020. Ein großes Dankeschön an alle beteiligten Remixer und Künstler!

Aber das Highlight der Band im Jahr 2021 war sicherlich die Gelegenheit, einen Remix für die ikonische britische Künstlerin ANNE CLARK für ihren Song "SOMETIMES" zu produzieren, der auf ihrem Album "SYNAESTHESIA - CLASSICS REWORKED" zu sehen war - zusammen mit Remixen großer Künstler und Produzenten wie Solomun, Blank & Jones und Marc Romboy.
