The beats are sharp and crisp, with smooth dark vocals adding to a mysterious but engaging atmospheric sound.
“Blink” is a brilliant tune that will leave you wanting much more.
“Xcommunication” is then on another level. You can feel the energy.
Each track has its feeling and its energy. It feels so emotionally charged that you feel precisely what RetCon wants to convey; his message is felt with the beats and melodies.
A brilliant EP, and I am looking forward to far more from RetCon.
DARK DIGITAL
Techno-Industrial band, RetCon has just unveiled the release of their new EP, titled EP.01.
EP.01's overarching themes are reflection, conflict, resistance, and redemption, with a dash of twisted romance. It possesses a loose set of narratives that imply a gestalt of resistance to that which would destroy you, with the implication that despite it all, you are worth the effort.
From the disposable capitalist consumerism implied in such a cookie cutter title, to the apocalyptic themes and the implausible romance.
A track like "First Light" adds references to the struggle against imperialism and genocide in Ukraine over lyrics that were originally more applicable to the coming troubles here in the US, because they are coming.
Compressing all of human existence into a lens one impossible year across also pokes loving fun at the nostalgic nature of such obviously retro aesthetics. A cyberpunk junkyard Gomi-wizard patching together the discarded pieces of a decadent age into something that could actually save the protagonists, if only they could cooperate.
Die Techno-Industrial-Band RetCon hat gerade die Veröffentlichung ihrer neuen EP mit dem Titel EP.01 vorgestellt.
Die übergreifenden Themen von EP.01 sind Reflexion, Konflikt, Widerstand und Erlösung, mit einem Schuss verdrehter Romantik. Es besitzt eine lose Reihe von Erzählungen, die eine Gestalt des Widerstands gegen das implizieren, was Sie zerstören würde, mit der Implikation, dass Sie trotz allem die Mühe wert sind.
Vom wegwerfbaren kapitalistischen Konsumismus, der in einem solchen Ausstechformen-Titel impliziert ist, bis hin zu den apokalyptischen Themen und der unglaubwürdigen Romantik.
Ein Track wie "First Light" fügt Hinweise auf den Kampf gegen Imperialismus und Völkermord in der Ukraine über Texte hinzu, die ursprünglich besser auf die kommenden Probleme hier in den USA anwendbar waren, weil sie kommen.
Die gesamte menschliche Existenz in eine Linse zu komprimieren, die ein Jahr über ein unmöglich ist, macht sich auch liebevoll über die nostalgische Natur einer solchen offensichtlich Retro-Ästhetik lustig. Ein Cyberpunk-Junkhof Gomi-Wizard, der die weggeworfenen Stücke eines dekadenten Zeitalters zu etwas zusammenflickt, das die Protagonisten tatsächlich retten könnte, wenn sie nur zusammenarbeiten könnten.
