Unhappily Ever Now

Unhappily ever now (ep)
INCREDIBLY DIFFERRENT
I was not sure what to make of this after the first song I was not a fan of, but then the other three tracks were so different and came out of their own, showing that Unhappily ever Now is serious.

The mix of vocals and melodies are incredibly different, bringing what I can describe as folk-like vocals to metal music with harmonies that work so well.

The guitar riffs are exciting and intense, but the whole EP is quite mysterious because you do not know what each track will bring. The variation is excellent.

Although my first comment seemed down on the band, it was not meant to be as after a few listens to get a natural feel for it, the first track also grows on you, and you realise it’s just another great showcase of the band showing such great versatility in style.

All in all, I have to say I did increase my original scoring of this as I wanted to be fair. My first impression was wrong, so I advised others to give it a second or third listen if, like me, I did not get it at first as it would become apparent that this band is excellent. I would love to hear them live as I think they will be able to push the sound much further to do themselves more justice.
