HELLO DARKNESS
Spammerheads is an electronic music duo formed in 2019 in Valencia (Spain). The band has just released a new album - Tar Blood / Cement Skin - with Soil Records in a Limited edition on pink vinyl 300 copies.
The evolution of Spammerheads sound has gone through different states and processes, always influenced by personal experiences and the social context, until reaching the sound of the recent album - Tar Blood / Cement Skin -. A raw sound that defines the essence of the band and picks up part of their musical background from their early youth.
In the band's words about their latest release:
“ This is without a doubt our most personal work to date. During the previous works, we have been experimenting with looking for our sound, and in this work, we have found it. It is a Raw sound that brings us back to the sounds of the suburban factories that were part of that scenario in which we lived when we were children.
The sound of the Great Machine of Industry in full performance. We feel very satisfied with the work because we believe the album conveys strange energy typical of today's big cities, shrouded in smog, polluted air and decadence. We are also happy with the work done with the voices. In this album, the voice is very important since, for the first time, almost all the songs are sung. The acid lyrics and the enveloping and cutting voice melodies merge with the creaking noises of the factories, forming an indivisible whole.
In short, we have left our blood with tar and our skin of cement when making this album, but the result, at least for us, has been worth it.”
Spammerheads ist ein Duo für elektronische Musik, das 2019 in Valencia (Spanien) gegründet wurde. Die Band hat gerade ein neues Album - Tar Blood / Cement Skin - mit Soil Records in einer limitierten Auflage auf rosa Vinyl 300 Exemplare veröffentlicht.
Die Entwicklung des Spammerheads-Sounds hat verschiedene Zustände und Prozesse durchlaufen, die immer von persönlichen Erfahrungen und dem sozialen Kontext beeinflusst wurden, bis sie den Klang des jüngsten Albums - Tar Blood / Cement Skin - erreichte. Ein roher Sound, der die Essenz der Band definiert und einen Teil ihres musikalischen Hintergrunds aus ihrer frühen Jugend aufnimmt.
In den Worten der Band über ihre neueste Veröffentlichung:
"Dies ist ohne Zweifel unsere bisher persönlichste Arbeit. Während der vorherigen Arbeiten haben wir mit der Suche nach unserem Sound experimentiert, und in dieser Arbeit haben wir ihn gefunden. Es ist ein roher Klang, der uns zu den Klängen der Vorstadtfabriken zurückbringt, die Teil dieses Szenarios waren, in dem wir lebten, als wir Kinder waren.
Der Klang der Great Machine of Industry in voller Leistung. Wir sind mit der Arbeit sehr zufrieden, weil wir glauben, dass das Album seltsame Energie vermittelt, die typisch für die heutigen Großstädte ist, umgeben von Smog, verschmutzter Luft und Dekadenz. Wir sind auch mit der Arbeit mit den Stimmen zufrieden. In diesem Album ist die Stimme sehr wichtig, da zum ersten Mal fast alle Songs gesungen werden. Die sauren Texte und die umhüllenden und schneidenden Sprachmelodien verschmelzen mit den knarrenden Geräuschen der Fabriken und bilden ein unteilbares Ganzes.
Kurz gesagt, wir haben unser Blut mit Teer und unserer Zementhaut zurückgelassen, als wir dieses Album machten, aber das Ergebnis, zumindest für uns, hat sich gelohnt.“
