There is no doubt in my mind that this is a very underrated band. Their music is up there with the 80’s big hitters like The Mission and the Sisters Of Mercy, Fields Of The Nephilim, and even Red Lorry Yellow Lorry.
The vocals are deep and dark; the guitar riffs are perfection. This is brilliant music from Sirens Of Light.
This is about as gothic (original gothic) as I have ever gotten to since those ‘80s. This band released this album in a limited release back in 2005, but I, for one, am so pleased it has been rereleased so we can all experience the greatness of Sirens Of Light.
Whatever generation of goth you are, this album will not disappoint you in any way, shape or form. It is a masterpiece of goth music.

About ‘Nullus Margis Gothica MMXXI’
The first Sirens of Light album ‘Nullus Margis Gothica’ was recorded in 2004 and saw a minimal release in 2005. The album was written and recorded mainly between March and June 2004 at Andy J.’s family home in Suffolk, England - a medieval church - using minimal equipment and a mobile recording device.
Additional recording and mixing were done later in 2004 at Earthworks Studios, London and Damage Recordings in Hertfordshire, U.K.
The album was always designed to be very traditional goth and to be listened to from beginning to end, taking the listener on a journey through an emotional soundscape of the dark, mysterious and macabre …..
Original copies of this release are now almost impossible to find……
Sixteen years later, in 2021, after the lost original recordings were discovered by chance, a new re-mixed version of the record ‘Nullus Margis Gothica MMXXI’ will be released on 8th November 2022…..
As much of the original recordings have been preserved as [possible…some tracks were incomplete and one completely missing, so the original had to be used…while at the same time updating the album to give it a more modern edge.

Über "Nullus Margis Gothica MMXXI"
Das erste Sirens of Light-Album "Nullus Margis Gothica" wurde 2004 aufgenommen und 2005 minimal veröffentlicht. Das Album wurde hauptsächlich zwischen März und Juni 2004 in Andy J.s Familienhaus in Suffolk, England - einer mittelalterlichen Kirche - mit minimaler Ausrüstung und einem mobilen Aufnahmegerät geschrieben und aufgenommen.
Weitere Aufnahmen und Mixe wurden später im Jahr 2004 in den Earthworks Studios, London und Damage Recordings in Hertfordshire, Großbritannien, durchgeführt.
Das Album wurde immer so konzipiert, dass es sehr traditionelle Goth ist und von Anfang bis Ende gehört werden kann, was den Zuhörer auf eine Reise durch eine emotionale Klanglandschaft der Dunkelheit, Mysteriösen und Makabren mitnimmt .....
Originalkopien dieser Veröffentlichung sind jetzt fast unmöglich zu finden......
Sechzehn Jahre später, im Jahr 2021, nachdem die verlorenen Originalaufnahmen zufällig entdeckt wurden, wird am 8. November 2022 eine neue neu gemischte Version der Platte "Nullus Margis Gothica MMXXI" veröffentlicht.....
So viele der Originalaufnahmen wurden erhalten wie [möglich...einige Tracks waren unvollständig und einer fehlte völlig, so dass das Original verwendet werden musste... während gleichzeitig das Album aktualisiert wurde, um ihm einen moderneren Vorteil zu verleihen.

The band was originally formed in the spring of 2004 by Andy J. Davies and James P. Quinn.
Andy J. Davies
Legendary indie rock songwriter, producer and artist Andy J. Davies – Vocals, Words, Guitars, Bass, Keyboards, Programs and audio smoke and mirrors. Andy J. Davies – musician, guitarist, songwriter, producer, and recording engineer.
He has worked with, played in, recorded and written for numerous artists, always innovative and on the wilder, darker side of the music industry.
The concept for The Sirens Of Light manifested after touring the area formerly known as East Germany, playing bass for the extreme metal band ‘Gilla Bruja’ in 2003.
Shortly after beginning the project on his own, Andy asked James P. Quinn to add his unique input to the project, and the Sirens Of Light was truly born in 2004.
James P. Quinn
James Patrick Quinn added rhythm and lead guitars, ethereal textures and rock n’roll and created a dark sonic landscape for vocalist Andy J. Davies.
James Patrick Quinn is an English musician, guitarist and songwriter; his playing is heavily influenced by classic rock, psychedelia and the technical guitar wizardry of the 1980s.
In his early days, he joined forces with singer-songwriter ‘The Fuze‘ as a session guitarist in the band ‘The Few’, a mod-inspired pop project, and later the band ‘String’ a strange mix of drum and bass, pop vocals and wild metal guitars.
Later, having toured with Rubicon (most of the members of ‘Fields Of the Nephilim‘) in his band ‘Bombchild’(with Andy J. Davies and Pat Walters – ex ‘Soho Roses‘/ ‘Wildhearts‘/ ‘Guns ‘n’ Wankers‘), he was asked to join the touring line up of ex Nephilim drummer and guitarist brothers Nod and Paul Wright’s band ‘Last Rites‘, doing several tours with the group, notably the European tour in 2002 with ‘Genitorturers’ and ‘DKay'(Jurgen Engler from Die Krupps). After touring East Germany with the extreme metal band ‘Gilla Bruja‘, Sirens of Light began as a co-writing studio project in 2004 with producer and musician Andy J. Davies. Since then, he has worked on several different musical projects, including ‘Delany‘, a mix of classic blues rock, psychedelia, metal and progressive rock featuring the singer from ‘Rubicon‘, Andy Delany.

Er hat mit zahlreichen Künstlern gearbeitet, gespielt, aufgenommen und für sie geschrieben, immer innovativ und auf der wilderen, dunkleren Seite der Musikindustrie.
Das Konzept für The Sirens Of Light manifestierte sich, nachdem er das Gebiet bereist hatte, das früher als Ostdeutschland bekannt war und 2003 Bass für die Extreme-Metal-Band "Gilla Bruja" spielte.

James P. Quinn
