THE NEST OF THE 80S IN ONE
Chris Pohl, She Hates Emotions, the man is so creative when it comes to music. He has managed to bring the essence of so many great artists of the 80s into each song.

“This Ain’t Good” is one of those songs that you can hear so many significant influences but can not pinpoint them as there are so many. Chris Pohl knows how to create great music, whether with this band, Blutengel or any other band. His lyrics are always insightful too.

“Space and Time” is so brilliantly done. Its highly catchy beats, perfect as always, vocals and melodies make you sing along. You can not get bored listening to this song.

The synths are incredible and flow through the song so that you will find yourself swaying to the rhythm.

This ain't good?! By no means, because this is so good! Blutengel mastermind Chris Pohl once again gets into his music time machine and beams himself back to his cherished 80s with his new single "This Ain't Good". Pulsating synth sounds meet bittersweet New Wave and thus hit the heart of each and every type of romantic. Are you ready to pining after?

Chris comments on the second single from the upcoming SHE album:

"This song is really different even by the standards of She Hates Emotions. It seems very upbeat and sounds typically 80s with its horn sections in the chorus. The lyrics, however, deal with the fact that alcohol, parties, and fleeting acquaintances don't make you happy either...."

"I have implemented this in the video, which was intentionally designed very tongue-in-cheek, quite appropriately. I roam around the club, drink, attempt to socialize, and then finally get hooked up by a lady. Actually nice, but "This is not what I want" - as the lyrics say...."

The Eighties – a decade of musical freedom, the heyday of New Wave and Dark Wave, pioneering years of the movement that spawned the dark music scene. These were the times that shaped the artistic path of Chris Pohl (Blutengel). With She Hates Emotions, he pays tribute to those influences with his music. The new SHE album will be released in 2022 via Out Of Line Music.

SHE takes the prime times by courtesy of bands like Depeche Mode, Anne Clark, Human League, Fad Gadget, Camouflage, or Alphaville into the 21st century: She Hates Emotions.

Can you help us?

Here at Darker Side of Music, we aim to bring Artists to more people giving them as much exposure as possible. We also are independent and are in no way supported by any Label.

Artists today have struggled to keep their art going for a long time, especially in the genres that we love and try to help. We are also in the same boat. We fight to survive if you use our site in any way and feel you can help us with the high running costs. Please think about supporting us so we can continue to help those artists that give us incredible enjoyment from what they create.
