PAWN PAWN is Liz Owens Boltz, Brandon Boltz, and David Daniel Smith. Each of the members were raised in Northwest Ohio, friends since their teens, and creatives in the Toledo music scene (including former members of Anna's Mom, Flamtronic, My Special Agent, and many other projects),
The trio formed PAWN PAWN in 2018. What began as a more melodic, nu wave sound initially described as "shoe-gazing goth-rock" has evolved over the years from their debut album, Bedtime (2018) to the darker Mourning (2022) and more recently to the dark electronic, synthpop, and industrial-pop that powers the Halloween EP.
On the weekends, the bandmates host sessions with music-minded friends and can often be found covering everything from Siouxsie and the Banshees' "Cities in Dust" to George Michael's "Careless Whisper".
