REVIEW:

Noir Addictions’ new single, “Money for the Honey,” is a fantastic track. It delivers dark alt-rock wrapped in a dance beat, crossing these genres perfectly. The vocals are deep and reminiscent of classic 80s bands, but this is far from a repeat of the past—it’s awesome, highly contemporary music.

The rock ‘n’ roll heartbeat is front and center, but so is atmospheric dark music at its absolute best.

This Italian band is spot-on with this release. Don’t be fooled by the generic “alt-rock” tag; this is absolutely brilliant. Bands like Flesh for Lulu and The Psychedelic Furs spring to mind, and a touch of a T. Rex-style bassline makes this an incredibly danceable track that will definitely get bodies on the floor.

The melodic rhythm and driving drumbeats just drag you right along. How can you not dance to this?

It’s fantastic, and to be honest, it is one of the best tracks I’ve heard this year. If you love music, you must give this a spin. It’s so good, it’s off the charts.

This a definite modern classic that once heard will be played over and over.

RELEASE DETAILS:

Italian dark alt. rock trio Noir Addiction return with their new single, ‘Money for the Honey’. A vibrant mix of driving guitars, pulsing synths and a hook-laden chorus, the track draws on alternative rock, darkwave and industrial influences while exploring attraction, desire and the complicated motivations that draw people together. Frontman Sonny Lanegan says:

“‘Money for the Honey’ is about the things we chase when we know they probably won’t give us what we’re looking for. There’s desire in it, there’s attraction, but there’s also that feeling of searching for something more. The song plays with those contradictions and leaves room for people to find their own meaning in it.”

“The phrase ‘Love me for the money, taste me for the honey’ became a kind of centerpiece for the song. It’s playful on the surface, but it also hints at the different reasons people connect with each other and the expectations we bring into relationships.”

Built around driving rhythms, layered electronics and one of the band’s most immediate refrains to date, ‘Money for the Honey’ showcases Noir Addiction’s ability to balance dark atmospheres with direct, melodic songwriting.

Founded by vocalist, guitarist and producer Sonny Lanegan, Noir Addiction also features drummer Roberto Catanzaro and keyboardist/percussionist Nessie Zorba. Based in Italy, the trio blends alternative rock, darkwave and industrial influences with a strong focus on songcraft and melody. Lanegan’s background includes work in Los Angeles with White Pulp and The Dead Good, experiences that helped shape the band’s distinctive fusion of rock and electronic elements.

‘Money for the Honey’ is released on 19 June 2026 across digital platforms including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. The band’s new EP, Pretty Things Don’t Last, follows on 16 July via SoulPunx Records. Noir Addiction will continue touring throughout 2026 in support of the release, having recently performed at Subzero and Chapeau Rouge in Prague, and Legend Club in Milan.
