INTERVIEW WITH GENTLEMAN VOX
OF
INDUSTRY OF DOOM
IoD – Gentleman Vox: Hello
IoD – Gentleman Vox: Gentleman Vox.
IoD – Gentleman Vox: I’m the singer of INDUSTRY OF DOOM.
IoD – Gentleman Vox: KÖSNIK plays the guitar and does programming.
IoD – Gentleman Vox: I think there is a “culture of doom”, especially in the US and internationally. A market for death and failure.
IoD – Gentleman Vox: I didn’t decide to create it, really. It was very organic-KÖSNIK, and I clicked philosophically and musically-
I was very impressed with his technical guitar work.
I think we’re musical in our thinking.
Anger and love are strong emotions/feelings that are best described through music.
It just so happens that anger seems to be a favourite of IOD.
IoD – Gentleman Vox: I guess electro metal? Industrial doom?
I really don’t know—
I listen and like so much but I’m very picky also-
I don’t have patience for self-indulgence in music-(my complaint about a lot of industrial/techno/electro etc.
music.)
I don’t like what I refer to as “background music” either.
IoD – Gentleman Vox: I would say travelling and unique people inspire me in life.
Inspiration in writing comes from my past-the, good and bad.
IoD – Gentleman Vox: I would say my interest in ridding oneself of your past, gaslighting, manipulation and the inherent need for self-destruction.
IoD – Gentleman Vox: Thank you, it’s a very personal song.
It truly is a confession of my past and anger at my past self and others.
Regret—?
I don’t know if I regret much, but I wish I could’ve been smarter.
IoD – Gentleman Vox: The first video done is a lyric video for ‘let the devil dress in black.”
The snippets of film may be KÖSNIK and myself or maybe animatronic.
The footage was from a photo shoot and filmed and edited by Inez Domali, who also did the photos…she has been instrumental in helping us with many different things.
She caught a few moments on film that she thought were interesting, and voila!
She made the video.
IoD – Gentleman Vox: The masks are just that-masks.
We don’t care about being rockstars or being recognized-I make the masks, the clothing.
I wear the same clothes you do every day.
If you read the lyrics to ‘the deprogramming of Thomas Fletcher,’ it explains it a bit.
We just want to be invisible in everyday life.
And walk among you.
IoD – Gentleman Vox: Lyrics are usually written first- I don’t write them musically-no melody, etc.
Just ‘poetry’? I guess.
I don’t listen to music very much anymore because I don’t want to sound like anyone else by accident or on purpose!
The music just stems from the lyrics
(we collaborate on the music)
The seed of the lyrics really pushes the music in whatever direction seems right.
IoD – Gentleman Vox: Touring, recording—
The live show is quite something.
There are four more songs releasing soon.
Hopefully, disgustingly successful in 5 years.
IoD – Gentleman Vox: Yes! Within a month, there will be at least four more songs and the debut album within four months or so.
IoD – Gentleman Vox: The live set has been built, but we haven’t gotten the dates yet-but. Yes there will be a tour.
IoD – Gentleman Vox: Thank you, and there will be more IOD released soon.
We all look forward to more great music from the band very soon.

Can you help us?
Here at Darker Side of Music, we aim to bring Artists to more people giving them as much exposure as possible. We also are independent and are in no way supported by any Label.
Artists today have struggled to keep their art going for a long time, especially in the genres that we love and try to help. We are also in the same boat. We fight to survive if you use our site in any way and feel you can help us with the high running costs. Please think about supporting us so we can continue to help those artists that give us incredible enjoyment from what they create.
We all have something in common our love of music.
