The darkwave band, A PROJECTION from Stockholm, is known for their powerful and energetic live shows, and their sound has been described as “a danceable mixture of dark wave and electronica, with both depth and edge”. Having released three full-length albums, the band has stayed firmly rooted in the post-punk genre. With their latest singles, “Darwin’s Eden” and “No Control”, A PROJECTION is entering a more electronic realm, placing themselves in the intersection between the synth and post-punk music of the 80s and a more contemporary electronic sound. The new single “Careless” continues that path and gives a pretty accurate foretaste of the upcoming album released on Metropolis Records later this year.
The “Careless” video was recorded by the young and creative filmmaker and multi-artist Shorkina Valeri from Ukraine. Although the next video she makes for us is currently being shot in war-torn Ukraine, she decided to film the Careless Video in the surroundings of late spring Stockholm.
The song “Careless” was recorded during and after Covid in different studios. Thus, the restlessness, but also the hope of the latest years, is reflected in the song. We got help from many artists during the recording, for instance, Henrik Linder from Dirty Loops.
Die Darkwave-Band A PROJECTION aus Stockholm ist bekannt für ihre kraftvollen und energiegeladenen Live-Shows, und ihr Sound wurde als "eine tanzbare Mischung aus dunkler Welle und Electronica mit Tiefe und Kante" beschrieben. Nachdem sie drei Alben in voller Länge veröffentlicht hatte, ist die Band fest im Post-Punk-Genre verwurzelt. Mit ihren neuesten Singles "Darwin's Eden" und "No Control" tritt A PROJECTION in ein eher elektronisches Reich ein und platziert sich an der Schnittstelle zwischen der Synth- und Post-Punk-Musik der 80er Jahre und einem moderneren elektronischen Sound. Die neue Single "Careless" setzt diesen Weg fort und gibt einen ziemlich genauen Vorgeschmack auf das kommende Album, das später in diesem Jahr auf Metropolis Records veröffentlicht wurde.
Das Video "Careless" wurde von der jungen und kreativen Filmemacherin und Multikünstlerin Shorkina Valeri aus der Ukraine aufgenommen. Obwohl das nächste Video, das sie für uns macht, derzeit in der vom Krieg zerrissenen Ukraine gedreht wird, beschloss sie, das Careless Video in der Umgebung des späten Frühjahrs Stockholm zu filmen.
Der Song "Careless" wurde während und nach Covid in verschiedenen Studios aufgenommen. So spiegelt sich die Unruhe, aber auch die Hoffnung der letzten Jahre, in dem Lied wider. Wir haben während der Aufnahme Hilfe von vielen Künstlern erhalten, zum Beispiel Henrik Linder von Dirty Loops.
