About Darker Side of Music
Welcome to Darker Side of Music. This isn’t just a passion project; it’s a lifelong obsession with the sounds that thrive outside the mainstream—the emotional, the raw, the cinematic, and the high-tension tracks that stay with you long after the music stops.
What We Mean by “The Darker Side”
There’s a common misconception that the “dark side” or “darker side” of music implies something dark or satanic. For us, it’s nothing of the sort.
To us, “Darker Side” simply means the non-pop side. It’s about stepping away from generic, predictable, mainstream commercial pop. Within our world, anything goes—from moody rock and driving underground rhythms to alternative genres. And yes, we absolutely embrace styles like synth-pop and future-pop, but it always has to have that distinct, authentic edge that sets it apart from the ordinary.
The Force Behind the Sound & The Visuals
Driven by an absolute love for deep rhythms, atmospheric soundscapes, and powerful songwriting, this platform was created to push creative boundaries.
But every great musical journey needs a co-pilot, and the evolution of Darker Side of Music is fully fueled by my beautiful partner, Marianne.
Marianne is my ultimate source of inspiration, my rock-solid support system, and my creative collaborator. Our striking new logo was entirely her doing—she encouraged the change, inspired the direction, and guided exactly what kind of design to use to bring it to fruition.
I am over the moon to have Marianne fully on board, because she is an extremely highly intelligent, amazing woman with a deep passion for music. She has officially stepped into the heart of the project:
The Visual Identity: Directing our creative vision, starting with our inspired new logo.
On Facebook: Managing and growing our community as an official Admin for the Darker Side of Music Facebook Group.
On TikTok: Bringing you music updates, visual aesthetics, and darker vibes as a team—proudly run by Mike and Marianne.
“Music is a journey best shared. With Marianne by my side, we invite you to step away from the mainstream and explore the Darker Side of Music.” — Mike
