REVIEW:
I love it when my favourite band releases music, and Sex Gang Children (SGC) are up there with the very best.
Andi Sex Gang is a true artist in every sense and an absolute legend in the industry for not following the rules. He is a great guy with an incredible personality to match, but possesses a spirit not many can follow.
They have released “Live At The Lyceum 1983” (Digital Copy Only), a fantastic document of their live performance—and trust me, they are so good live. It is always said that a true band can play live, and SGC are one of those bands who will floor you with their performance. If you don’t enjoy them, there is something wrong with you.
So, if you have never had a chance to see and hear them live, this is your opportunity, but in the comfort of your own home. It’s a complete powerhouse of an album and performance.
The 14 tracks will make you realize how good SGC are and how amazing Andi is. His vocals are haunting—but naturally haunting—emotional, and you can hear the absolute passion for his art.
I’m not going to review the tracks individually as I would be biased, but that’s simply because they are all fantastic. Besides, how can you pick and choose out of a collection of greats like “Salvation”, “Mauritia Mayer”, “Draconian Dream”, “Into The Abyss”, “Children’s Prayer”, “Oh Funny Man”, “Sebastiane”, and “Song And Legend”? It’s completely impossible to choose, plus all the other tracks on there too.
So let me say: get this, listen to it, and be captivated by a true music legend and a legendary band. SGC are the masters.
Get this and you will not be disappointed, but may I recommend you play this loud—very, very loud.
